Second death in Melbourne triple shooting

A second person has died after a triple shooting in Melbourne's inner west on New Year's Eve.

A 29-year-old man who was also shot in the attack died in hospital on Wednesday, Victoria Police confirmed.

His death comes a day after a 25-year-old woman died at the scene of the shooting outside a house in Salisbury Street at Yarraville on Tuesday after a gunman opened fire.

The couple who died have been named in media as Veton Musai and his wife Lindita.

A 55-year-old man from Altona North was taken to hospital under police guard with suspected gunshot wounds.

Police have said the trio are all known to each other and it is understood the suspected gunman is a relative.
