Driver swerves through oncoming traffic before entering round-about in wrong direction

A driver has been filmed narrowly missing a number of cars swerving onto the wrong side of the road and driving through oncoming traffic.

The dashcam footage, which was captured by driver Chris from Bendigo, shows the moment the blue hatchback veers into oncoming traffic, crossing lanes to avoid other vehicles before entering a roundabout in the wrong direction.

Chris told radio station 3BA he was driving down Albert Street in Sebastopol yesterday when he noticed the car next to him was being tailgated by a driver in a blue hatchback.

"All of a sudden he just switches onto the wrong side of the road, and I was just dumbfounded," he said, adding he was amazed the rogue motorist didn't cause a head-on collision.

"I'm just going 'oh my god this is going to end badly'," he said.

A police spokesperson told 9News that officers "patrolled the area but were unable to locate the vehicle"
