Search for autistic boy missing in Victorian Park to resume at first light

The search for an 11-year-old autistic boy missing in a Victorian park will resume at first light today as rescuers desperately try to locate him.

Emergency services have been unable to find Luke Shambrook since he went missing from the family campsite near Lake Eildon in Fraser National Park at 9.30am yesterday.

He is believed to have limited speech and his family says he is likely lost and confused and completely out of character.

An extensive search has been launched involving local police, air wing, water police, dog squad and SES crews looking around the area and surrounding coast.

Police and his family hold grave concerns for his welfare.

Rescuers searched into the night but were unable to locate the boy.

Luke is described as having a medium build, about 150 cm tall with olive skin, brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black beanie, black windcheater, black t-shirt, dark-grey track pants, grey boots and a scarf.
