A man has fled the scene of a hit-and-run accident in Melbourne's southeast, but not before getting out of his car to look at his victim.
Police are trying to identify the driver of a car that struck the 61-year-old woman, who was crossing the Princes Highway in Dandenong on Friday about 9.40pm.
Police say the driver stopped his car about 75 metres from where he allegedly hit the woman, walked to where she was lying on the road, before running back to his car.
