Sawn off rifles found in Vic man's car

Melbourne police have arrested a man after finding weapons including sawn off rifles in his car.

Ammunition, a baton, drug paraphernalia and a suspected counterfeit $50 note were also found during a search of the 24-year-old Packenham man's car early on Friday morning.

He was sitting in the vehicle outside a home in Clyde North at the time, police say.

The man was charged with drug, weapon and other offences and bailed to appear in Dandenong Magistrates Court at a later date.
