Boy seriously injured after being hit by vehicle

A pre-schooler has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a reversing vehicle in Rochester, near Echuca, this afternoon.

Police believe Kruze Mackay, 2, was hit in the driveway of a Hopetoun Street property about 12.30pm.

The boy suffered suspected leg and abdominal injuries, and was airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

He is now in a serious but stable condition.

“He’s a happy-go-lucky boy, and always on the go,” his grandmother, Karen Cemino, told 9News.

Investigations into the incident are underway.
