Three men have been taken to hospital after a cherry picker toppled into a building at a Victorian worksite, trapping the trio 10 metres above the ground.

The men were stuck for more than an hour on the elevated platform after it crashed into the Barwon Water building in Geelong on Tuesday morning, emergency services say.

CFA firefighters extended a ladder platform to the stricken crane, which was at a dangerous angle.
