Protesting Vic factory workers win meeting

Management and workers have taken the first steps towards resolving an industrial dispute in Melbourne that led to workers staging a four-day sit-in.

Management from International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) will hold a hearing with officials and delegates on Saturday.

The 27 workers began camping out in the factory's Dandenong lunch rooms in protest after negotiations for a new workplace agreement fell through.

The National Union of Workers says workers agreed to end their four-day protest because of the show of good faith by Asia Pacific managers who flew in from Singapore to resolve the dispute.

Workers took to Twitter with the hashtag #occupydandenong to get their message across.
