'Projectile' fired into Vic driver's car

A Victorian woman in her 50s has had an unknown object fired through her car window while she was driving through Geelong.

The item was "discharged into the rear passenger window" after the Belmont woman pulled up beside a sedan on Melbourne Road on Tuesday morning, police say.

Moments earlier the sedan's driver - a scruffy-looking man in his 30s - had honked his horn and flashed his lights at the woman as he drove behind her.

The offending maroon-coloured sedan, with a taped-up passenger window, sped off after the projectile was fired in an apparent road-rage incident.
