Probe after Vic cop's gun fired in car

An internal Victoria Police investigation is underway after an officer unintentionally fired their gun in a vehicle.

Two Melbourne-based Operations Response Unit officers were in Mildura helping with a local operation on September 3 when the gun went off in the vehicle they were in.

No one was injured and the vehicle sustained minimal damage, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said in a statement.
