Prisoner stabbed at Victorian jail

A prisoner has been stabbed at Victoria's maximum security Barwon Prison.

Emergency services were called to the jail, near Geelong, on Thursday afternoon after a 41-year-old inmate was found with a stab wound following an altercation.

A Corrections Victoria spokesman said the man's injuries were non-life threatening and the incident has been referred to police for investigation.
