Possible asbestos found on Vic beach

Potential fragments of asbestos have been discovered on a popular Victorian beach on the Great Ocean Road.
The Environment Protection Authority is investigating after five small fragments of sheeting that may contain asbestos were found by a local residet on the foreshore in Apollo Bay.
The pieces have been sent to a laboratory to determine if they contain asbestos.

"The results will be communicated to the community as soon as possible," the EPA's Damien Wells said on Friday.
The fragments, no bigger than the size of a coin, pose a low risk to the community unless broken or crushed and the EPA says there is no immediate reason for concern for people in the area.
