Vic tram worker killed by garbage truck
A Yarra Trams employee is dead after being hit by a garbage truck in Melbourne, while in a separate accident a woman has been killed in a head-on collision.
Victoria Police say the tram driver died in hospital after he was struck by the truck while crossing a road in Coburg around 7am on Monday.
It's reported the man, aged in his 50s, stepped out of a car before being hit and dragged several metres along Moreland Road.
A Yarra Trams spokesman confirmed the man was one of their workers.
In a later accident, a woman died after her car slammed head on into another vehicle in Cranbourne South around 9am.
The driver of the second car, a man in his 50s, has been taken to hospital for observation.
Meanwhile, a 46-year-old who crashed his motorbike in Doreen last week died in hospital on Sunday.
The state's road toll is now 112, 13 more than for the same period last year.
