Police release CCTV after cyclist punched in the back of the head 'for riding on footpath'

Victoria Police have released CCTV in a bid to find a pub patron who punched a cyclist in the back of the head after yelling at him for riding on the footpath.

The 45-year-old victim was riding his bicycle outside a Barkly Street hotel in St Kilda when the offender yelled at him at about 5.10pm on 21 February.

After the pair argued, the offender then chased the cyclist and punched him in the back of the head, causing him to fall onto the pavement.

The Hawthorn man suffered a broken nose and fractured wrist in the fall.

Police have released CCTV of a man they want to speak to over the attack.

He is described as being Caucasian, 180cm tall with a solid build.

He was wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts and a blue and white baseball cap.

It is believed the man was at the hotel for a buck’s party however his identify remains unknown.
