Police hunting man over two armed robberies in Melbourne’s south-east

Investigators have released images of a man suspected of robbing two service stations in Melbourne’s south-east armed with a knife earlier this month.

Police allege the man entered a service station on Toorak Road, South Yarra armed with a knife around 1.30pm on August 3.

He allegedly made demands for cash then fled the scene and ran to South Yarra station where he rode a train to Caulfield, police said.

It is believed he carried out a similar attack at a second station on Dandenong Road in Malvern East later in the afternoon.

The man is described as being of African appearance and around 185cm tall.

He was wearing a navy ‘Yankees’ branded jumper and carrying a red and black backpack at the time of the alleged robberies.
