Vic manhunt for dead woman's flatmate

The housemate of a woman found dead in a Melbourne unit is still on the run.

The 29-year-old woman's body was found in a Kew property on Tuesday after several police earlier swarmed the corner of Derrick and High streets.

It's believed her father raised concerns about her welfare to police earlier that day.

Police on Friday say they believe Alex Freeburn was last seen in Darlington, 200km west of Melbourne, sometime on Wednesday.

"Investigators believe Alex Freeburn may be able to assist with their inquiries and urge him to hand himself in," a police spokeswoman said on Friday.

Police are yet to confirm whether the death is suspicious or release the results of the post-mortem examination.
