Pedestrian dead in regional Vic crash

A male pedestrian is dead after a car crash in regional Victoria overnight.

The pedestrian, aged in his 30s, was found with life threatening injuries on Gear Avenue in Mt Helen near Ballarat around 3.30am on Saturday.

Despite paramedics efforts to save the man he died at the scene. The driver stopped after the crash and is assisting police.

The investigation is ongoing.
