Oz cops challenged to NZ dance off

Aussie cops have been challenged to a dance off by their Kiwi colleagues and Victoria's top cop has taken the bait.

A viral video of New Zealand police officers breaking it down has been shared online as part of the running man challenge - where people do the dance move and then share the video on social media.

The Kiwi's video has been tagged with all of Australia's police forces and the NYPD.

"Nice effort @nzpolice - leave it with us," Victoria's Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton tweeted on Wednesday.

Victoria's police are no strangers to public dancing after appearing in a flash mob in 2013 as part of an anti domestic violence campaign.

The NYPD has already accepted the challenge, posting a video of police getting funky in Brooklyn.
