Online dater charged with multiple rapes

A Melbourne man has been accused of raping three women in a matter of days after using a dating website to set up meetings with them.

Adel Nafady, 27, of Windsor, met the first victim last Saturday in Windsor, unlawfully imprisoned her, raped her twice, indecently assaulted her and stole $150, police say.

He allegedly met the second victim the next day, charge sheets tendered in the Melbourne Magistrates Court state.

Nafady has been charged with raping the second victim five times, indecently assaulting her and stealing $20.

He is accused of raping a third woman on Thursday, the day he was charged by police.

Nafady appeared in the court on Friday for a brief filing hearing.

He faces eight rape charges, as well as false imprisonment, indecent assault and theft charges.

He was remanded into custody and will reappear on August 14.
