Man stabbed at Marngoneet prison

A man has been stabbed at a Victorian prison.
The man was attacked at the Marngoneet Correction Centre in Lara about 1pm.
“A man has been airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries,” an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.
Several paramedics transported the prisoner to a helicopter. 9news

Marngoneet is a medium-security prison adjacent to Barwon prison, where Melbourne drug kingpin Tony Mokbel was stabbed earlier this year.
A spokesperson from Corrections Victoria confirmed "that a male prisoner was transported to hospital via air ambulance after sustaining serious injuries in an incident at the Margoneet Correctional Centre shortly after 1pm."
"Corrections Victoria takes all assaults very seriously, and refers all allegations of criminal activity to Victoria Police for investigation," the spokesperson said.
