A Melbourne man accused of creating computer viruses that mimic a public transport survey and screensaver but download child porn when clicked on has been found guilty of a string of offences.

Kenneth Palliser, 62, was remanded in custody on Thursday after a County Court of Victoria jury found him guilty of seven charges in relation to the 2010 scam where Palliser posed online as an attractive young woman to share links to the survey virus.

The Mitcham man, who was acquitted on one count of knowingly possessing child pornography, will appear before the court again on June 26 for a plea hearing.
