Mohammed Haddara murder: Man charged over 2009 shooting

A man has been charged with the murder of Mohammed Haddara, who was gunned down in a driveway in Melbourne’s west seven years ago.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man from Brooklyn and charged him with one count of murder. He is due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

The father-of-three, 28, was shot in the back up to five times outside his parents’ home in Altona North.

Police arrested a 67-year-old man last week, however he was released without charge after his house was searched in Fairfield.

In 2011, another man, Ahmed Hablas, was acquitted by a Supreme Court jury of Mr Haddara’s murder.
