Melbourne woman's lucky escape

A pot left cooking on the stove almost led to dire consequences for a woman saved by firefighters from her Melbourne apartment.

Fire crews were called to the Carlton apartment just before 10.45pm on Tuesday night and found it filled with smoke.

A 30-year-old woman was evacuated and treated for smoke inhalation.
