'Dangerous and foolish': Men filmed tram surfing in Melbourne criticised for risking lives
Footage has emerged of two men who put their lives at risk by clinging to the back of a tram in Melbourne's inner-city last night.
The men climbed onto the number 16 tram as it began moving in St Kilda at 6.41pm, shocking bystanders.
"It is dangerous, silly and I don't know why anyone would have the urge to do that. It was bizarre," witness John White said.

Yarra Trams have since slammed the stunt calling it "dangerous and foolish".
"There's a serious risk of injury from falling off a moving tram," a spokesperson said.
"Witnesses to this kind of behaviour should report it to police and alert the tram driver."
But it's not just on trams that joyriders are filming themselves, some videos show them hanging onto the back of trains and posting it on social media.
"It is that culture that is developing, they want to be cool," another witness, Simon Lewis, said.

Victoria Police labelled the behaviour "incredibly risky".
"You're just one slip or fall away from life-changing consequences. Showing off to your friends is never worth risking your life," a police spokesperson said.
"It also puts commuters and drivers at risk when tracks and equipment are interfered with."
Individuals caught tram surfing can be fined up to $462 for adult offenders and $92 for child offenders.
