Melbourne train surfer dies

A man has died after falling from a train he was allegedly surfing in Melbourne.

Police say the 23-year-old Melbourne man jumped to the ground from the top of a train as it reached the McKinnon station last Wednesday.

He was taken to the Alfred Hospital where he passed away on Friday.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
