Melbourne terror attack inevitable: Iddles

High profile former detective and outgoing union boss Ron Iddles believes a terrorist attack in Melbourne is "inevitable".

The former homicide squad detective who will stand down as secretary of the Police Association of Victoria on Friday, says the threat of an attack is one of the biggest issues facing the force.

"It will happen in Melbourne, it's just a matter of when," he told 3AW on Friday.
