Melbourne teen charged over CBD incident

A 15-year-old boy accused of driving erratically through Melbourne's CBD on AFL grand final day before he was tasered by police is expected to face court.

It's alleged the boy, dressed in riot gear with a full-face helmet, drove erratically through the CBD before he was tasered around 8am on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital and kept under police guard before he was charged on Sunday with two counts of attempted murder, six counts of reckless conduct endangering life, and assaulting and resisting arrest.

Police say he's due to appear in a children's court at a date to be set.

The teen could appear in court as early as Monday as minors cannot be kept in custody for more than 24 hours without coming before a children's court or a bail justice.
