Melbourne shopkeeper turns the tables on failed milk bar bandits

Detectives are hunting two armed men who were chased out of a Melbourne milk bar last week by a shopkeeper wielding a baseball bat.

Police believe two men, one armed with a handgun, stormed the convenience store on Banff Street in Reservoir at about 8.40pm on June 11.

CCTV released by police shows the men demand cash but quickly fleeing empty handed when the worker chases after them with a baseball bat.

Around 20 minutes later it is believed the same two men successfully robbed another store on Johnson Street.

Once again it is believed the men threatened a staff member with a handgun, however this time the pair fled with cash and cigarettes.

Nobody was injured in either incident.
