Melbourne rent prices hit record high

Melbourne house rental prices jumped 2.5 per cent over the March quarter, with a record median price of $390 per week.

New figures from the Domain Group, released on Thursday, also revealed that unit rentals jumped 1.4 per cent to a record median $365 per week.

The report says tight rental markets across Australia's capital cities will see rental price increases continuing through the rest of 2015.
