Melbourne police investigate cat burglars

Police are investigating after two men armed with a knife snatched a kitten from a couple as they walked home from a Melbourne train station.

The men stole the carry case holding the six-week Persian kitten just before 2am on Saturday after they approached a man and woman who were walking through a park near Cheltenham train station.

The kitten was in a cream and maroon carry case, which the men made off with after threatening the pair with a knife.
