Four killed in one day on Vic roads

Four people have died in four separate crashes on Victoria's roads in less than 24 hours.

The deaths of two men riding motorcycles and two women drivers takes the state's annual road toll to 203.

The latest crash happened about 6.30pm on Friday when a 26-year-old man on a motorcycle attempted to overtake a truck in Oakleigh.

The vehicles collided where a section of Warrigal Road in Oakleigh merged in to one lane.

The motorcyclist died at the scene and the 61-year-old truck driver was uninjured.

Less than three hours earlier, a 22-year-old Swan Hill woman died when her car lost control on a bend, went down a grass slope and crashed into a tree on Pental Island Road on Pental Island.

She was the only person in the car.

About 2.30pm on Friday, a woman died in a head-on crash with another car in Narre Warren North.

A 43-year-old Narre Warren man has been arrested over that crash and is being interviewed by police.

Another motorcyclist died in a crash with a car at a Coolaroo intersection.

Victoria's road toll for this time last year stood at 170.
