Melbourne beach baby's mum still missing

The mother of a newborn girl whose body was found on a beach in Melbourne's southeast remains missing, a month on from the discovery.

The baby's body was discovered at a beach near the Nepean Highway at Seaford on April 8 with her placenta and umbilical cord still attached.

Police at the time would not say whether she had been injured but confirmed she was likely left on the beach two days earlier.

Her remains were found by a member of the public.

Investigators are still searching for the baby's mother and hold serious concerns for her health and welfare.
