Seven arrests over Melbourne gunshots
Seven arrests have been made and three people charged after gunshots were fired at two Melbourne cars.
A man was shot at in Wyndham Vale on Wednesday after he stopped to check on a woman whose car was blocking another street.
A marked police car was also shot at early on Thursday morning in an attack detectives believe was linked to the first one.
Police raided homes and a Werribee shopping centre on Thursday night and arrested seven people.
They found stolen cars, trailers, other stolen property and ammunition.
- A 23-year-old Werribee South man is in hospital under police guard and has yet to be interviewed or charged.
- An 18-year-old woman has been charged with theft of and theft from a motor car and criminal damage by fire.
- A 22-year-old man charged with theft of and theft from motor car offences, other theft and assault related matters.
- A 28-year-old man was charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
- A 24-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants.
- A 21-year-old woman and a 40-year-old woman were arrested but released without charge.
