Melb man in court over NSW warrant

A man will appear in a Melbourne court over a NSW warrant.

Alex Freeburn, 26, was arrested near Warrnambool on Saturday after police called for him to hand himself in.

The body of his housemate, a 29-year-old woman, was found in a Kew townhouse on Tuesday.

Freeburn was released on Sunday after being interviewed by homicide detectives.

However, he was then remanded to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday over a NSW warrant.

Detectives are yet to determine if the woman's death is suspicious.
