Vic man charged with historic sex assaults

An elderly man has been charged with 19 sexual assault-related offences at Victorian medical practices over a period of 30 years.

The 72-year-old Clifton Hill man is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and a 21-year-old woman between 1974 and 1980 in Wantirna South, and a 17-year-old girl in Roxburgh Park in 2004.

Police arrested him on Tuesday after an 18-month investigation.

The 19 charges include rape, carnal knowledge, sexual penetration of children under the age of 16, indecent assault and "attempt to procure female to become a common prostitute".

He will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on July 15.
