Melb 7-Eleven owners fined over pay

The franchisees of a Melbourne 7-Eleven store have been fined over the underpayment of 12 employees.

Husband and wife Haiyao Xu and Yiran Gu, who previously ran a Parkville 7-Eleven, have been penalised $20,000 each and their company Hiyi Pty Ltd fined $110,000 by the Federal Circuit Court.

Twelve employees at Parkville were underpaid a combined $84,047 between September 2013 and September 2014, and have now been back-paid in full.
