Man stabbed in the back at Victorian prison

A man is in hospital after being stabbed in the back at Port Phillip Prison.

Emergency services were called to the facility in Truganina just after 1pm.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital with a minor stab wound to his back.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The incident follows a string of violence at the centre, including a brawl last week in which six prison staff suffered injuries.
