Man sought over Melbourne restaurant fire

Police have released an image of a man they want to talk to about a suspicious fire at Melbourne's famous Lygon Street restaurant strip.

The October 2 fire caused more than $2 million damage and forced 15 people to evacuate their homes.

The blaze started after midnight in a two-storey building that had been undergoing renovations for some time, before spreading to a reception centre and nearby Japanese restaurant. It took 60 firefighters more than an hour to bring the fire under control.
