Lifelong mates have gone viral after they took a tumble in a Ballarat pub's beer garden, with one of them taking a legendary catch to save a pot of precious Guinness mid-fall.

The incident occurred after a round of golf on Saturday, friends Braden Christoffersen and James McErvale visited the Buninyong Hotel, where their table overturned unexpectedly.

"It was like it happened in slow motion. It just started going, and then there was nothing either of us could do about it," Christoffersen said.
