Man in court over alleged Vic murder

A man charged over a fatal shooting in Melbourne suffered injuries during his arrest, a court has been told.

Kamil Yucel, of Dallas, appeared briefly in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday accused of murdering Dandenong man Rahat Khan.

The 20-year-old Mr Khan died of gunshot wounds in Dallas last week.

The court heard Yucel had never been in custody before.

His lawyer Nick Marcevski said the 28-year-old was injured during his arrest on Friday and should be seen by a nurse.

Yucel was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on November 7.

Police will format CCTV footage and request a DNA report before that date.
