A second man charged with attempted murder over a stabbing outside a Melbourne party has made his first court appearance.

Shahid Hamid, 28, of Burwood, appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Wednesday charged with four offences including the attempted murder of Indonesian national Rollin Shah, who was stabbed in Brighton East as he left a party at 5.30am on Saturday.

Hamid made no bail application and was remanded in custody to reappear in court in May.
