Man impaled on fence spike in Melbourne

A man's arm has become impaled on a metal spike as he tried to climb a fence outside a University of Melbourne campus.

The man in his 20s was cut from the fence in Parkville just before 2am on Wednesday, Ambulance Victoria says.

He was treated by paramedics as firefighters worked to free him, and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
