Pedestrian hit by car, killed in Melbourne

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Melbourne's southwest.

The 25-year-old Wyndham Vale man was hit about 10.40pm on Friday near the intersection of Armstrong Road and Greens Road in Wyndham Vale on Friday.

He died at the scene and the driver, a 36-year-old Werribee woman, was arrested.

She was later released pending further enquires, police said.

They are calling on any witness or anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
