Man fighting for life after Vic smash

A motorcycle passenger is fighting for his life after crashing into a concrete bollard on the side of a Melbourne road.

Police say the motorcyclist, a 43-year-old Taylors Hill man, failed to negotiate a bend in Avondale Heights early on Friday morning.

The rider and his 18-year-old pillion passenger were thrown from the bike into concrete bollards and hospitalised with serious and life-threatening injuries respectively.
