Man dies in Vic car crash

A man has died after his car struck a tree in country Victoria.

Police say a car left the road in Wurdiboluc, near Winchelsea, and hit a tree just after 1pm on Saturday.

The male driver, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene and his male passenger suffered serious injuries.

The man's death brings the state's provisional road toll to 175, one more than at the same time last year.
