Melbourne man dies after being hit by his own car

An elderly man has died in Melbourne after he was run over by his own car last night.
Emergency services were called to a home in Avondale Heights, north-west of the city, around 8.30pm (AEST).
The man, believed to be in his 70s, was unable to be revived.

The incident occurred outside his family home.
Police are still trying to determine what happened.
