Man critical after Melbourne one punch

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was punched in the face by someone he knew outside a pub in Melbourne's southeast.

Police say the 24-year-old was struck after leaving a hotel on Heatherton Road in Springvale about 11pm on Saturday.

A 20-year-old Endeavour Hills man was arrested at the scene but has since been released.
