Man charged over Vic umpire assault

Police have charged a man after he allegedly ran onto a football field and assaulted an umpire in Melbourne.
The 40-year-old man was arrested in Thursday over the incident at a suburban football match in Hoppers Crossing on Sunday, police say.
He was charged with affray and two counts of assault and has been bailed to appear at Werribee Magistrates' Court on February 5.
