Man charged over Vic street shooting
A man has been charged with murder over the shooting death of a half-naked man on a Geelong street.
The shirtless Norlane man, 36, was shot from a passing car on Anakie Road in Bell Post Hill about 11pm on Tuesday and died as horrified witnesses looked on.
The 22-year-old Lovely Banks man charged with his murder is expected to appear at Geelong Magistrate's Court on Friday for a filing hearing.
Before he died, the victim was seen arguing with a woman.
He became erratic, waving his hands at cars as he walked down the middle of the busy road, prompting many calls to triple zero.
Most drivers avoided him but police said a dark-coloured sedan stopped at the corner of Furner Ave and its occupants confronted the man.
Shortly afterwards a shot was fired from the car, which sped away as the man died at the scene.
