Man charged over 1993 Vic robbery in court

A man accused of an armed robbery at a Melbourne department store that netted more than half a million dollars is due to appear in court on Friday.
Wladimir Wladimirovich Babaeff, 54, is accused of using a handgun in the robbery at the CBD store that netted $518,798 in cash and cheques in August 1993, court documents show.
The Preston man has been on bail since November charged with 13 offences including armed robbery, unlawful imprisonment and assault.

One of the charges also accuses Babaeff of possessing morphine in April last year.
Babaeff is due to re-appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
